As a United Way Suncoast donor, you belong to a community of people committed to making a difference.  We invite you to get involved with us and see how your donations are helping build a brighter community for everyone.

Throughout the year we provide a variety of volunteer opportunities to elevate our impact areas of early learning, youth success, financial stability, and related support services.

You also can attend networking and other special events through our Leadership Societies, subscribe to our newsletter, and follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.  Whether you choose one, or all of them, we invite you to engage with United Way the way that best suits you.

Volunteer

Whether it’s building kits to address critical community needs, helping us upgrade our Quality Childcare Initiative learning centers, or providing expertise as a financial literacy coach, there are opportunities available every day through VolunteerSuncoast.org, our premier volunteer platform. Participate with friends and family or come on your own and meet new people.

Take advantage of specialized volunteer opportunities, including:

Monthly Engagement Opportunities (MEO): Created in collaboration with the community to strengthen United Way Suncoast programs, MEOs provide a variety of options for individuals and groups. Each month has a theme aligning with our impact areas.

VITA: Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program trains volunteers as tax preparers, greeters, and interpreters to assist low-income residents across the Suncoast Region with filing their tax returns for free.

Financial Coaching: As a United Way Financial Coach, you’ll be paired with motivated individuals to help them navigate through financial crisis, build a working budget, eliminate debt, establish a plan for college or retirement, and manage other financial challenges they face.

Leadership Societies

From LINC, our new group for young adults, to Women United, Admiral Society and the Tocqueville Society, we have ways for you to engage in fun and rewarding events while meeting like-minded people who don’t just talk about helping, but actually make a difference. Advocate

Advocacy represents a cornerstone of our work at United Way Suncoast. We believe government plays a critical role in creating change that can improve people’s lives. But government cannot do it alone. Neither can United Way and the rest of the nonprofit sector. Led by our Public Policy Committee, United Way Suncoast actively engages in public policy advocacy to develop partnerships that include local, state, and federal governments – along with the private and nonprofit sectors.
